What is La Vita all about?

First and foremost La Vita is about raising money and awareness for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research. We do however place a massive importance on creating events that stand out from anything else in the industry. Our parties have a very loyal following, however, we never take this for granted and we strive to put on events that are worthy of the support we receive.

How long has it been running?

This year we are celebrating our 3rd Birthday. During this period we have put on several events over the UK & Ibiza and with the help and support of many people we have raised nearly £20,000 which we are really proud of.

What DJ’s have played for La Vita?

Over the 3 years we have had Todd Terry, Simon Dunmore, Micky Slim, Rebekah, Abigail Bailey, Kate Lawler and for our third Birthday we welcome Shapeshifters, DJ EZ, Luck & Neat + lots of London based DJ’s.

What inspired you to start La Vita?

A few close friends decided that we wanted to put on a one off event and donate all the money to a worthy cause. At this stage we had no idea if anyone would even want to come, never mind that 3 years later we would have raised such a vast amount of money. What has happened to us over the years has been way beyond our expectations. I would honestly have been pleased with a handful of people turning up and to be able to give anything to the charity but now we sell out 600+ capacity venues in London every year and have had over 2,000 attend our annual fundraiser in Ibiza.

Is there a music policy?

Our music policy is…GOOD MUSIC! Music is a beautiful thing and we are very lucky that our crowd understand good music in whatever form it comes in. This year we are introducing an OLD SKOOL GARAGE room and this echoes my earlier point regarding good music. Some other nights may shy away from things like this but we see it as GOOD MUSIC and our crowd do.  Just because its older doesn’t mean it cant still be appreciated and enjoyed.

If you could book any artist (alive or dead) to play La Vita who would you book:

How awesome would it be to have Michael Jackson. R.I.P

Any more events planned for this year?

Nothing apart from our 3rd Birthday on Friday 23rd April at the Whitehouse.

La Vita is obviously run to raise funds for charity but do you have any plans to promote your own nights to make a profit:

No not at the moment.  So much time and effort goes into the planning for one party I simply wouldn’t have time to promote a regular party and juggle my busy DJ schedule at the same time.  Plus La Vita is my baby I wouldn’t want to take the shine away from that.

Three tracks which conjure up the spirit and vibe of La Vita:

KOT – Finally is a definite La Vita hit

If people can’t make it to the night but want to help do you have a link where they can donate?

If anyone is unable to make it down to any of our events and wish to help they can simply purchase a ticket from one of our many online outlets. All of the money from ticket sales goes directly to Breakthrough, we have many people buying tickets even if they cant come down as a way to show appreciation for what we are doing and we cant say thank you enough to everyone who supports us in such a way. www.residentadvisor.net
