Like many aspiring artists out there, Gemma has been singing since she can remember and has been in numerous bands over the years and recorded demo after demo with little recognition…until now.
Through chance, one of Gemma’s closest friends introduced her to “The One Hundred” who were looking for a female vocalist, and once she had auditioned, they knew instantly she had the sound they had been searching for.
Since laying down the original vocals, ‘Break Me Down’ has now been remixed by numerous top producers who have all commented on the strength of Gemma’s vocal performance… “Massive keys and chords along with an outstanding vocal performance give us a Hed Kandi classic in the making” (Discopolis).
‘Break Me Down’ is now featured on 3 Hed Kandi and 4 Ministry of Sound compilation albums and the different styles of remixes have helped push Gemma’s vocals into the Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Garage arenas.
Gemma Irwin is constantly evolving as a vocalist and as a result of her recent success has now been asked to work with new producers, and experiment in different genres of music. Gemma is currently booked for Live PA’s across the UK, so keep your eyes (and more importantly your ears) open!
