Paul Jack has been promoting/organising club nights and running various brands for over 10 years. He has sucessfully dipped into many different scenes and styles of music with ease. Most recently he is known for pushing some of London’s biggest warehouse parties this year , under his brand “London Warehouse Events”. Paul is also affilated with several venues across London.
1. So how long have you been promoting?
10yrs..crikey!
2. What’s your history in the music industry? You started with hard house nights am I right?
Started running a couple of hard techno and hard house record labels called Arktik Recs and Sketcha Traxx and then moved on doing Party Proactive events at the Purple turtle in Camden eventually leading to 2 years of sold out events at Turnmills and launching additional event along the way like Closer amongst others.
3. How did you make the leap in terms of musical style at your nights?
A widening in musical taste as I get older and paying attention to what people want!
4. You are not just promoting now but also are involved with several London venues – can you tell us about this?
Apart from promoting I bought a pub at the end of last year and launched it as the Ravign Buddha, it’s a crazy place and opens up new challenges and ew ways of working.
5. What’s the sound system like?
We use Stealth Array as our main soundsystem at all our events and I think it’s the best out there by a long shot!
6. Do you have any big nights coming up?
There are always big nights coming up Phonica 8th Birthday and Spectrum next week, Get Physical 2 weeks after that and Drumcode are just some of the parties we have to work on.
7. What music is pulling in the crowds at the moment?
Has to be house, techno and dubstep!
8. Are there any particular names or brands particularly well doing well?
Of course! Sound Crash and Urban Nerds events have really caught my eye
9. How do you feel the general vibe is with clubbing in London at the moment?
The vibe is great and there is some fantastic music coming through all the time. I think clubbers have become a lot more critical of events and this can only lead to better parties for everyone!
10. Do you still enjoy what you do?
LOVE IT!
11. You seem to have many fingers in many pies at the moment Mr Jack and we hear you just got married too (congrats) how do you manage to juggle all this and still have a life?
I work 7 days a week 18 hours a day on most days and because I enjoy what I do I never really get bored or tired of it! The hard part is fitting in family life too but it all seems to be holding together at the moment lol
12. If you were to go to a night outside of your own promotions – where would you most like to you?
I have been enjoying Jaded at lot on the rare occaision when I can come out and play – naughty vibe, naughty people – perfect!
13. What do you want to achieve this year?
More exciting event concepts, new venues and looking at starting to do live events with bands etc
