All Our Daze caught up with Whelan & Di Scala at last month's Amsterdam Dance Event and discussed tunes, producers … and cigar smoking strippers.

Nice to see you out here at ADE and great to finally meet your man Mike. Is this your first time out in ADE?
Nope been a few times now ... Amsterdam’s a great city and perfect place to meet new producers.

How do you think it compares to Miami … apart from being colder of course?
Yerrr the weather can be a bit of a downer, although this year wasn’t so bad (bring on the Global Warming). I guess from a producer's point of view it’s a lot better, everyone's under one roof rather than spilled across miles of hotels and bars!!! Miami's that big it can be difficult to get to the important people needed to push your track.

What was the main reason for coming out? What tracks are you pushing?
Red Light District of course hahaha just kidding ;) Narrr we've done a lot in the last 12 months with Legendary Dutch label 'Black Hole Records' so we we're invited to play there party Flashback @ Odeon alongside BT & Ferry Corsten.  
Tracks we're pushing include Cuba which has received some mighty support already from Tiesto & Ferry Corsten, also Black Sensation which was the highlight of the summer and now due for full release on VICE Records. This track was hammered by all the Swedes, Guetta, Arno Cost, Clamaran, TV Rock and Tom Novy so hopefully it'll do well at ADE!

Which parties are you planning on going to?
Obviously BlackHole's Flashback Party sounds like a winner... but also the Toolroom & CR2 Record Parties are definitely on the list. We went to both last year and they we're Awesome.

Have you picked up on any bombs as yet?
A few tracks I picked up include Oxia - Whole Life, Tom Neville's - A Run in reverse & Noir - She got my heart.

Been given any flops?
Haha Narr all the tracks I received were pretty cool!!!

Which DJs are you hoping to catch while you’re out here?
Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Funkerman & Zoo Brazil.

You and Mike mentioned that you saw an exotic dancer last night who performed a rather elaborate trick which involved a Cuban Cigar – would you like to tell the readers at home about this?
With pleasure mate ... Yer I advise anyone who's thinking to visit The Dam to check it out! This Exotic Dancer completely blew us away literally ha... smoking a cigar out of her, ermmm, what shall we call it, errr errrrm, I know - her Flower yerrr yer her Flower... !  I had no idea girls could suck in air and blow it back out down them ways... truly remarkable!!! She took chain smoking to another level :)

Dave I know you’re a blue and we both know the reds haven’t had the best start to the season ... how does that make you feel mate?
We Blues aren't bitter... But its F******G  Hilarious.   Extend Rafa's contract  I say!!! :)

Ok back to music mate … your DJ diary is picking up nicely with forthcoming dates in Middlesbrough, Chester and Moscow...do you feel your profile is now beginning to increase off the back of the steady supply of quality tracks you guys have been releasing?
Certainly has ... we've concentrated a lot more on our production and also worked the track a lot better. In the past we we're both happy just to get the tracks signed and out there then move on to the next project but now we prefer to work the track ourselves with just a select group of A List Dj's. With file sharing completely destroying dance music, as we know it you really do have to be extra tight with your music.

AOD are planning on putting on our own event at next years ADE – are you boys up for playing?
Only if we're back to back with a young Cigar Smoking Blonde!!!
